Naturally Boost Your Circadian Rhythm

In today's modern world, where artificial lights dominate our evenings and screens keep us engaged late into the night, it's easy to lose touch with the natural rhythm of day and night. However, amidst the hustle and bustle, there exists a timeless remedy—a remedy as old as human civilization itself: candlelight.

Candlelight isn't merely about ambiance or aesthetics; it possesses a subtle power that can profoundly influence our circadian rhythm—the internal clock that regulates our sleep-wake cycle—and may assist in gently guiding our bodies back into harmony with nature.

Some research suggests that exposure to bright artificial light, especially in the hours leading up to bedtime, can suppress the production of melatonin, making it harder to fall asleep and stay asleep. Whilst some of this research is not yet fully proven, it is worth keeping this in mind next time you’re about to flick on the light switch!

Unlike the harsh glare of artificial lights, candlelight emits a warm, soft glow that mimics the natural light of dusk, signaling to our bodies that it's time to wind down and prepare for rest. Candlelight is gentle on the eyes and promotes relaxation.

So as evening falls and we light our candles, the flickering flames create a calming atmosphere that encourages relaxation. The soft, warm light helps to ease tension and reduce stress, allowing our bodies and minds to unwind after a long day.
